What a Driveway Visit Covers

Gravel Driveways Need a Different Setup

A blade dropped onto gravel picks up stone and throws it onto the lawn. On gravel lanes we run the blade on shoes set above the surface and let the first storms build a thin packed base that the blade rides on for the rest of the winter.

A thaw in January can still move some stone. We rake it back off the grass in April, and narrow sections near gardens or septic lids get the blower instead of the blade.

Where the Snow Goes

Oro-Medonte By-law (343) 947-5029 makes it an offence to place snow from private property on a public road or sidewalk, with a $100 set fine, and the Highway Traffic Act bars depositing snow on a roadway without written permission. We stack every pass on your side of the property line.

At the site visit we pick the pile spots with you, away from the end of the lane so you can see oncoming traffic when you pull out.

What Affects the Price

Length and width set most of the price, followed by slope, the size of the turnaround, gravel or paved, and any extra pads for a trailer or second car. We price it once at the site visit and the number holds for the season. There is no travel charge inside the township.
